Three joint projects in Honduras public schools have been agreed upon between La Musica ... who will provide new and used instruments from the United States ... and Casa de La Cultura, who will administer the programs within Honduras:
Fundación Casa de La Cultura will maintain a "lending bank" of instruments, to be available to music students, teachers, and schools. For example: Tegucigalpa's national school for music teachers requires its graduates to perform a period of public service. Those teachers serving in La Ceiba can be provided with instruments for their classrooms. Also, public music classes can be offered in the same fashion Casa de La Cultura now sponsors education in the fine arts.
In past years there have been no teachers of instrumental music in any of La Ceiba's public grade schools. Beginning in February, 2001, the first instrumental music class and the first marching band in that city's history are being sponsored by La Musica and Casa de La Cultura for the students of Escuela Guadalupe de Quezada.
