La Musica Foundation exists to collect, throughout the United States, new and used musical instruments donated to benefit schoolchildren in Honduras.
Honduras is the second-largest, most mountainous, and poorest country in Central America. Its citizens endure the most poverty of any nation, except for Haiti, throughout the Western Hemisphere.
Our counterpart agency in Honduras, Fundación Casa de La Cultura de La Ceiba, will refurbish these instruments as needed and
distribute them to deserving primary and secondary schools.
Fundación Casa de La Cultura was granted Honduran non-profit recognition in 1991. It is supported by nominal membership dues and ticket sales, plus a few small donations from businesses and the Honduran Congress.
